ortho-Cresol and Phenol in Urine
o-Cresol is a minor metabolite of toluene and serves for the assessment of an exposure to toluene, which is a frequently used solvent in glues, paints and thinners. In contrast to hippuric acid, which is the main metabolite of toluene, o-cresol is not a physiological component of urine and therefore reflects the internal exposure towards the pollutant. Phenol is the main metabolite of benzene and is used for the assessment of benzene as well as of phenol itself. The RECIPE ClinTox® Complete Kit provides an excellent analytical sensitivity and ensures a reliable biomonitoring of both analytes. The sample clean up is performed via solid phase extraction (SPE).
